Is Kreider the next big thing for New York?

We all saw the Boxford, MA native in last years playoffs, coming straight out of college to make an immediate impact for the New York Rangers, but I think some of us underestimated just how impressive that was. Chris Kreider is a 6 foot 3 inch 230 pound winger from Boston College, who had 95 points in 3 college seasons, including 2 National Championships and a World Juniors Gold and Bronze medal. As you can see, Kreider has had experience playing on the big stage, which could be why John Tortorella put him almost immediately into the Rangers lineup after the National Championship game last year. Only playing in the playoffs for the Rangers last season, the 21 year old netted 5 goals and 2 assists in 18 NHL playoff games. Impressive to say the least, Kreider hasn’t let the lockout put a damper on his first season out of college. No, he’s not playing in the NHL right now like he would’ve hoped, but with the lockout at large he is playing against NHL talent in the AHL. In his first two games with the CT Whale, Kreider has netted 4 goals, including a hat-trick. Kreider hasn’t let the fame from last years playoffs get to his head, instead he’s worked harder this offseason and is rearing to go if the Players and Owners can work out a deal. Kreider provides a unique weapon to the Rangers lineup and is someone who should be on every teams radar. Watch Out for Chris Kreider.
