After a marathon 14 hour session, Donald Fehr and Gary Bettman emerged out of their second floor hotel room and announced that a tentative deal has been made. It worries me what “tentative” means… From how childish the NHL and the NHLPA has been these last 114 days, it could mean the smallest thing could continue the lockout. Unlike popular belief, the first person to report it was Kevin Patrick (@KevinPatrick77) :

Deal will be done by tomorrow night. Realignment will occur in the 2013-2014 season. Will be a 10 year CBA with opt out after 8.
Here’s a summary of the plethora of news coming out along with the source saying it.
– Any NHL not on entry level contract will have their own room. Unlike before where you needed to have played 600 games. – Andy Strickland of 590 The Fan St. Louis.
-Salary Cap is set at $60 million. – TSN
-“No question target is 50-game, not 48-game, season. Speculation is it would be 5 games vs 4 division rivals and 3 games vs 10 Conf rivals.” – Bob McKenzie of TSN
-Salary Cap will be $64.3 million – Sportsnet
-“I talked to couple of people that indicated as much as 52-game NHL schedule could still be a possibility.” – Joe Haggerty of Comcast Sportsnet
-“So the players will be allowed to play in 2014 Olympics!” – @NHLAlert_
These are just a few of the rumours floating out there. We’ll continue to report once we get any significant discoveries.
