Top 5 Under 25: #5 Jordan Eberle

In the fifth spot, we have Edmonton Oilers star Jordan Eberle! Jordan was drafted 22nd Overall in the 2008 NHL Draft. Many Canadian hockey fans will remember him for this memorable goal: (Sticktap to p00jabiHD for uploading this).

Here’s the breakdown of the voting:
Eberle List

Kyle had him listed at number one, while no other person listed him higher than number five. Here’s his explanation why:
“Jordan Eberle is establishing himself as an NHL superstar after dominating the junior scene. His stats with the Regina Pats (310 points in 254 games) combined with his WJHC awards (one gold and one silver) are just a stepping stone to a promising NHL career. In his 3 years at the NHL level, Eberle has amassed a 0.8 points per game average. Although he regressed a bit in the 2013 shortened season, he was on a torrid scoring streak playing for the AHL affiliate of Edmonton during the lockout (51 points in 34 games). Now I’m just shooting stats at you guys but Eberle also has other aspects that make him a great player. He’s clutch (*ahem* 2009 World Junior Hockey Championship Semi-Finals *ahem*) and not to mention he has the smarts to play the game right and hard. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to help his team succeed (shifting to Center for Edmonton because of the injuries to the Oilers). Jordan has the capacity to become one of the premium scorers in the NHL and it’s hard not to visualize Eberle as the next captain of the Oilers or any other NHL team that takes him.”

What do you think? Do you agree with Kyle? Is he the best player under 25 years old? Or do you agree with Shirley and Geoffrey? Is he a Top 5 Under 25? Or do you agree with the rest of us who believe he is a great player, but not a Top 5 Under 25? Comment below, Tweet me @hkyblogger, let us know!
